MoDOT: Watch, Slow Down For Spring Road Repairs

Missouri Department of Transportation reports the St. Louis work zones for April 11- 17.

Missouri Department of Transportation workers will be busy the next few months with routine and seasonal tasks, such as pavement repairs and crack sealing.

Motorists should watch for slow moving or stopped vehicles with flashing lights in traffic lanes on interstates and other busy roadways.

MoDOT has scheduled nighttime closures of ramps on the Poplar Street Bridge next week so crews can complete preventative maintenance on the ramps, weather permitting.  The current schedule for ramp repairs is:

  • Monday, April 15 – Crews will close the ramp from northbound I-55 to eastbound PSB from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday.
  • Tuesday, April 16 – Crews will close the ramp from the PSB to southbound I-55 from 8:30 p.m. until 4 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Wednesday, April 17 – Crews will close the ramp from the PSB to westbound I-70 and Memorial Drive from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday.
  • Thursday, April 18 – Crews will close the ramp from eastbound I-70 to the PSB from 8:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday.

Motorists should be aware of the following on-going closures:

  • I-64, St. Louis City, the Vandeventer Avenue ramp to westbound I-64 is closed until late 2013.
  • I-64, St. Louis City, drivers in both directions will have three shifted, 10-foot lanes between Kingshighway and Vandeventer avenues until November 2013. The rightmost lane of eastbound I-64 will exit at Hampton Avenue.
  • Wellington, St. Louis City, the Wellington bridge closed over the River Des Peres until April 2013. Detour to Jamieson Avenue bridge.
  • I-70, (westbound section of the Interstate 70 Blanchette bridge over the Missouri River) will remain closed until fall 2013. The eastbound I-70 bridge has three lanes of traffic in each direction. The ramp from northbound 5th Street to eastbound I-70 is closed until fall 2013.
