Moelm Makes School Board Bid Following Aldermanic Losses

Stephen Moelm declined to be interviewed by Maplewood-Brentwood Patch.

Stephen Moelm is a candidate running for a one-year unexpired term on the Brentwood Board of Education. He faces incumbent and challenger .

He's a Brentwood resident who owns a home with Rochelle Moelm at 2006 Urban Drive, according to public real estate records.

I don't know much else about Mr. Moelm, but not because I haven't tried. He declined two requests for interviews—one from and one from me—saying he instead preferred to send out pamphlets to the public before the April 5 election.

Moelm has previously run for Second Ward Alderman on the Brentwood Board of Aldermen in 2009 and 2010, but he lost both times. In 2009, he tallied 43 votes to Lee Wynn's 173, as noted on the City of Brentwood's website. The website also notes that he notched 28 votes in 2010, compared to Mike Marshall's 224 and Frank Leahy's 24.

I asked Wynn if he and Moelm ever talked during the 2009 election. "He ran a fair campaign. That's all I know about him," Wynn said. Marshall hadn't heard from him during the 2010 election either.
