Rottjakob Named Interim Brentwood City Administrator

She currently works as Assistant City Administrator and Director of Planning and Development.

Tonight Ellen Rottjakob was appointed to temporarily fill the post left vacant by former city administrator Chris Seemayer's resignation on March 11.

Rottjakob, 42, has served as the city's Assistant City Administrator and Director of Planning and Development for the past four years. The Brentwood Board of Aldermen approved the appointment during a meeting on Monday night.

The city administrator acts as the chief financial and administrative officer for the city. Administrators draft annual budgets, lead city construction projects and offer recommendations to the mayor and Board of Aldermen during board meetings.

Mayor Pat Kelly will lead the city's search for its next administrator. He said the process could take several weeks or even several months. The city will advertise the position in local newspapers at first, but if a qualified candidate doesn't respond, it will expand its advertisements to statewide publications.

Once a candidate is selected by the mayor, he will make an appointment for the Board of Aldermen to certify.
