Some Property Taxes Lowered for Maplewood Homeowners

Maplewood City Council approved a rollback in property taxes.

Homeowners in Maplewood soon will pay fewer taxes to the city.

That's because Maplewood City Council by $.01 per $100 of assessed valuation on Tuesday. The rate was set at $0.791, which is down from last year’s $0.801.

For a $100,000 home, that's a savings of $1.90 compared to last year's bill.

The rate was set below what the assessed valuation called for, City Manager Marty Corcoran said.

The commercial rate was also reduced by $0.214 per $100 of assessed valuation, with the rate set at $0.916. The commercial rate went down because the assessed valuation went up compared to last year.

Personal property tax remains the same at $1.230 per $100 of assessed valuation.
