The petition continues!

Maplewood residents your voices are being heard. Not even 24 hours after I started a petition to save Woodside I have gathered nearly 100 signatures. It is important that we are heard, and that we as citizens tell our local officials that we will not stand aside as our history is stripped away from us. It is important to stand up for what we believe in. I have heard feedback from facebook, twitter, and comments posted here on our Patch both negative and positive. I think it is important to comment that this old home that is slated to be demolished has incited many. The public outcry both negative and positive should be proof enough that this council decision should at least be put on hold, and opened up to public comment.

I have contacted various members of the St. Louis media, contacted a historic building advocacy group, wrote a letter and email to Charles Dooley asking him to lend support to this cause and contacted the St. Louis County commission for historic buildings (HBC). Ben Ellerman brought up many great points in his comment under the post for the councilman’s response. Ben makes a lot of sense so check out his comment.

Please continue to share the petition via email, facebook, twitter, and word of mouth. The goal is 1000 signers by next Monday so the signatures, feedback, and comments can be delivered to the city with strength in numbers. If you have any suggestions about what we could do with the building please send them to me via email so that I can compile them and open up a forum for public comment at stlhomesales@live.com.
