Boclair Named Scholar Athlete by Post-Dispatch

The Maplewood Richmond Heights senior was selected for his success in academics and athletics.

Senior Charles Andrew Boclair III was named a 2011 Scholar Athlete by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch earlier this month.

Boclair, 17, represented on the list, which features top academic and athletic students from schools across the region. He is the son of Charles Boclair Jr. and Claudia Wenzel, and has one brother, Curtis.

Q: How does it feel to be named a Scholar Athlete by the Post-Dispatch?

It feels great to be the Scholar Athlete because it is an honor, but also a reward for all my hard work.

Determination and being responsible to make sure you perform well on the field and in the classroom.

Q: What drives you to be successful in athletics and academics?

I always wanted to be on top. So striving to do the best I could every time is something I do. Plus I had influence from family and friends that I can work hard.

Q: What's next for you?

For me, college is the next step in life. I hope to major in business and mathematics or economics. I will be attending Sewanee: University of the South.
