Brentwood Football Shuts Out MMA

The visiting Colonels only mustered one first down on the night.

A Brentwood Eagles offense that last week continued to produce against the Missouri Military Academy on Friday night.

The Eagles (2-2) roughed up the Colonels (0-4) 69-0 at , allowing only one first down throughout the game while giving several Brentwood rushers the opportunity to score.

The Eagles primary trio of running backs combined to score seven touchdowns. Senior Danny Lynch scored three, senior Tyler Jones scored one and junior Rekardo Owens scored three. Jones and Owens both scored one defensive touchdown too.

The list of other scorers includes a touchdown from freshman running back Daron Starks and a safety from freshman linebacker Wes Sappington. Senior kicker Jake Caragher knocked in 7 out of 10 extra points.

Among the starters, Lynch carried five times for 68 yards, Owens carried five times for 63 yards and Jones had eight carries for 45 yards. Starks also had five carries for 54 yards.

Sophomore Jake Zivic, sophomore Devin Couch and freshman Austin Koster combined for 54 yards on 12 carries in the second half.

Lynch also led the defense with four tackles and one assist. Senior defensive end Keith Bowman and junior defensive tackle David Rivera each contributed a sack too.

The Eagles travel to Cuba, MO, for next Friday's game.
