Herring said the Eagles had a strong rushing attack early, then threw in some screens and play-action passes to mix the offense up.

And while the offense put up big numbers, Herring said the team had some penalties and other mistakes.

"We were kind of sloppy tonight, and we've got to clean that up," Herring said. "But the guys got the job done."

The win puts the Eagles (3-2) above .500 at the season's halfway point. Brentwood has four games left in the season.

Brentwood hosts Lutheran South (1-4) next week at home for the Eagles' homecoming game.
