Brentwood Schools Exceed State Testing Targets

The Brentwood School District attained proficiency in math and communication arts on the 2011 Missouri Assessment Program. Scores were released on Thursday.

The Brentwood School District achieved state-set proficiency goals in math and communication arts, preliminary data from the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) show.

The MAP test, aimed at gauging whether students are performing at grade level, is a component of the federal No Child Left Behind law. The goal of the federal program is to have all students performing at grade level by 2014.

The data was made public Thursday by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
