Junior, Jake Zivic had two rushing touchdowns and went 72 yards on 13 carries and junior, Dylan McGhee had a 35-yard field goal.

Sophomore, Austin Koster had 12 carries for 92 yards.

Two Panthers scoring threats were cut short by interceptions. Owens and Zivic had key interceptions in the first half. Junior, Devon Couch also intercepted Principia’s junior quarterback, Mathew Gilman.

Brentwood coach Keith Herring said he was concerned about the Principia offense.

“Our kids stepped up and played. We had two starters out,” he said. Herring said he plugged another player into senior, David Rivera’s spot on the line. Rivera was out from a knee injury from the previous week.

“We said, it’s a system, you do your job and it will work,” he said.

Brentwood’s last regular season game is next Friday at Wright City (2-5). Then by Saturday night, the teams will be seeded for district playoffs.

Herring said Brentwood will likely play Principia again, in the first round of districts, in two weeks.

“Maplewood will get the one seed, we’ll be the two seed,” he said. “We still have to take care of business at Wright City.

“I think we’ve still got a lot of good football left in the bag,” he said.
