Eat Well, Be Well with Diabetes: Food Outreach

Eat Well, Be Well with Diabetes teaches healthy food choices for people with diabetes. The class features healthy versions of familiar foods that are easy to prepare and cooking techniques that use new or more healthful ingredients.

Participants will learn diabetes self-management skills such as basic carbohydrate counting, as well as the value of physical activity and working with a health care team to manage diabetes. Each two-hour session includes nutrition instruction, cooking demonstration and recipe sampling. Participants will receive copies of the recipes. Class size is limited to 15.

The class is free, thanks to a grant from Interfaith Partnership, but registration is required. (The usual class fee is $45 per person.) The registration deadline is March 4.
