McGrath Students Learn Economics, Support Homeless Families

A community garage sale provided a learning opportunity for third-grade students at McGrath Elementary School.

The third-grade teachers of , Sarah Ladyman and Dana Palubiak, wanted to make the study of economics a real-life experience for their students.

The students decided to host a rummage sale of used toys, games, books and videos. The students and teachers solicited donations, sorted and tagged the items, and sold the items on the Brentwood community garage sale day in September.

The students bargained with customers, collected money and learned to make change.
