Meet the New MRH Elementary Principals

Maplewood Richmond Heights Elementary School has a new principal and assistant principal. Meet them at coffees on the next two Wednesdays.

Last Wednesday, two new administrators with about a dozen parents in the gym over coffee, lemonade and cookies.

Principal Jason Adams told the parents that MRH has been his "destination district."

"All of the initiatives that are happening in the district: small community, peace—that’s who I am, that’s very important to me," he said.

He said he comes from Parkway, a much larger district, and he's excited to be at MRH Elementary. He said he and Assistant Principal Jonathan Strong have personally hired many of the new staff for the year.

Strong said MRH Elementary resembles the school he attended growing up.

"The school was the pillar of the community," he said. "You had the families, you had the neighborhood and the teachers who are part of community, and I look at this school district, and that’s exactly what it is."

Strong also said the best educational practional practices are in effect and flourishing at MRH.

"I’m here to learn from the students and the school district just as much as I’m here to teach and educate," he said.

Two more Coffee with the New Principals will be held this month. One will happen from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, and the other will happen from 6 to 7 p.m. July 25.

The Back to School Social is at 6 p.m. Aug. 13.
