MRH at Brentwood Football Tonight: Rivalry in the Rain

Remnants of Hurricane Isaac is causing the game to be pushed to 5:30.

The Maplewood Richmond Heights – Brentwood rivalry will continue tonight on what is expected to be a rainy football field.

The game, at Brentwood, has been rescheduled to 5:30 p.m., from 7:00.

An article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch says first-year MRH coach Rich Nixon doesn't get caught up in rivalry games.

"For Nixon, it’s the biggest game of the year because it’s the next game on the schedule."

I've heard two opinions about tonight's game: 1) a rainy game favors the underdog, and 2) a mom said she hopes it's rescheduled so no one gets hurt.

I echo the comment about nobody getting hurt; I doubt the weather will impact injuries. I think rain favors a team with better conditioning and frundamentals. We won't know until tonight who that is...
