Junior Wes Williams carried the load as the Blue Devils primary running back. Williams scored three touchdowns in the first half, the first scores of his career. He subbed for freshman Elijah Keely, who missed the game for personal reasons.

Junior PJ Grady-Liska also added two touchdowns in the first half. Senior kicker John Barron scored his first career field goal with a 30-yard kick in the second half, and freshman running back Kareem Harry had his first career touchdown, also in the second half. Most of the MRH offense on the field in the second half were junior varsity players.

Williams said the Blue Devils knew they were the better team.

“We just knew that if we played down to their level that we would have a dog fight at the end like the MICDS game,” he said. “So we just came off from the top, clicking.”

MRH quarterback Kahlid Hagens completed 8-of-14 passes for 148 yards, and was also MRH’s leading rusher with 87 yards on the ground. Williams totaled 49 and Liska had 22.

Brentwood had 264 total offensive yards, with 181 of those rushing. Freshman Daron Starks led the Eagles with 79 yards rushing on three carries. Junior Danny Lynch chipped in another 45 yards on the ground. Junior quarterback Jordan Groth threw for 83 yards.
