MRH Blue Devils R&B Band Video Released

The rhythm and blues band performs hits from five decades.

The s Blue Devils Rhythm and Blues Band, made up of 7th-12th grade students, recently released a video montage of performances from the year. They made the video in a professional recording studio.

The group swings and rocks hits from the past five decades, and has been the pep band for sporting events and assemblies.

The band will perform on the Main Stage at the Taste of Maplewood Festival on May 19.

“The students in the ensemble are extremely serious musicians,” Harris said in an e-mail to Patch.

This year's group consists of :

  • Zach Arias, guitar, All-State Jazz Band and All-District Jazz Ensemble,
  • Thomas Barron, trumpet, All-State Jazz Band and All-District Jazz Ensemble
  • John O'Keefe, bass, member of Jazz-U at Jazz at the Bistro, along with Arias and Barron
  • Sya Collins, lead vocalist, 8th grade, second year with group
  • Chrystopher Kluttz, dancer/singer
  • Jonas Tiggs, dancer/ drum set
  • Courtney Johnson, drum set
  • Paul Meuser, keyboards
  • Nicole Orazi, tenor saxophone
  • Hannah Jordan, trumpet
