“Everybody fought hard on both sides, and we just got lucky and came out on top,” Carmon said.

The match was Brentwood coach Whitney Ralph’s first Brentwood-MRH game.

She said the fan support from both sides made the match a little more intense. Brentwood football had a Saturday game, so most of the team filled a section of the bleachers.

“I think we got a little tense at the end, let our emotions play into it, instead of focusing on finishing the game,” Whitney said. “Maplewood came out to play today.”

“We’ll get them next time, at their house," she said. “So we’ll see how that goes.”
