MRH Finishes Strong Over Lutheran North in District Playoff Game

The Crusaders gave the Blue Devils four full quarters, but MRH, especially Kahlid Hagens, was too much for Lutheran North.

 Maplewood Richmond Heights made up for its shortened game on Friday, playing four full quarters against Lutheran North Wednesday night, winning 60-28.

MRH's game against Cleveland on Friday was called in the first quarter, when the majority of Cleveland's team was ejected for fighting. MRH lost two in the rumble.

Lutheran North kept at MRH's heels in the first half. It was 41-21 at the half then got as close as 41-28 in the third quarter, but it was all MRH after that.

 Senior quarterback, Kahlid Hagens had three touchdowns, as he rushed for 182 yards. He was three for six passing for 64 yards, which included two touchdowns.

One of Hagens’ touchdowns was a pass reception from senior all-around player Wes Williams, who had taken the handoff from Hagens.

Sophomore, Elijah Keely had 112 yards rushing. Wes Williams went 96 yards rushing, with one touchdown, two catches for 47 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

MRH will meet Brentwood for the Class 2 District 2 championship Monday at 7 p.m. at MRH on Nov. 5. Brentwood also won Wednesday night, defeating Carnahan 42-22.

Brentwood's only loss of the season is to MRH.
