will soon be on the hunt for both a new principal and assistant principal.
Dr. Tony Arnold, who is in his second year as principal at the school, will resign from the post at the end of the school year. Arnold plans to "pursue other personal and professional interests", notes a district email to parents on Friday afternoon.
Arnold was not immediately available for comment on Friday afternoon.
Assistant Principal Katie Rengel announced earlier this week that she will step down at the end of the school year to spend more time with her family. She and her husband had their first child last fall, notes another district email to parents.
Rengel, who has worked as assistant principal for four years, will remain in the school as a teacher, the email notes.
The school district will form a committee to identify a replacement for Arnold. That group will be comprised of administrators, teachers, Board of Education members and parents, said Brian Adkisson, communications director for the district.
"It's really a collaborative effort," Adkisson said.
