Recognize Brentwood Basketball Players Before Senior Night

Are you the parent, friend or loved one of a senior basketball player at Brentwood High? Find out how to post his or her accomplishments on Patch before this week's Senior Night.

It's almost Senior Night!

Seniors on the Brentwood High School basketball team will be recognized this week during the annual event. Girls' basketball senior night is Wednesday, Feb. 13, and Boys' is Friday, Feb. 15.

Before your senior heads to Senior Night, give them a shout-out right here on Maplewood-Brentwood Patch. Just like the ads you find in school programs congratulating seniors on their accomplishments and wishing them well in the years to come, your post on Patch will let the basketball star in your life (and our neighbors here in Patch-land) know how much they mean to you.

The options are endless. You could post a photo of your senior and his or her best friends, wishing them each luck as they move on to college next year. You could write a personal note, thanking your senior for all they've meant to you. Or you can take the light-hearted approach and post a funny photo. (Maybe even a baby photo? You won't get away with that much longer!)

To post a senior recognition announcement, follow these instructions:

1. If you don't already have an account with Patch, make one. All we need is an email address.

2. Go to the New Announcements page here.

3. Fill in the blanks. Choose "Accomplishments" in the drop-down category menu.

4. Don't forget the photos!

And if you have any problems with posting, don't hesitate to email Lindsay.Toler@patch.com

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
