A weekly look at what's going on with in local high school sports.
The district football playoffs and the final week of the girls volleyball regular season are the big news in local high school sports this week, as teams from all three Midtown-area high schools get ready for one of their biggest weeks of the season.
In volleyball, the Eagles earned the No. 1 seed for the Class 2 District 5 tournament, which will be held at Maplewood beginning next Monday, October 24.
The Eagles will start out with a game against Northwest Academy at 4 p.m. that day. Should Brentwood win that match, they would play the winner of the Cardinal Ritter-Carnahan first-round match, in the tourney semifinals on Wednesday, October 26.
