William Penn Grabs Another MRH Athlete

Nick Coulter joins MRH teammate Tony King on the football team.

Recent Nick Coulter wasn't sure about where to go to college, then when William Penn University offered a football scholarship and that decided it.

He had been on a recruiting website, and later that week the William Penn coach called him of the blue. He wanted Coulter to play safety for the Statesmen.

Coulter also gave the coach positive feedback on teammate Tony King. He did such a good job that the William Penn wide receiver coach fell in love with him. King this summer. Coulter said it will be good to have his teammate with him there.

He stopped by the school when he was in the area visiting another college and met the football coach.

“That’s when he told me what they were going to do for me - first school that really put an offer on the table,” he said.

In his senior year, Coulter tallied 50 tackles, two quarterback sacks and two interceptions. He also returned 12 kickoffs for a 27-yard average.

Coulter was a middle-distance runner and long jumper on the , and said there’s a possibility of jumping at William Penn too.

Coulter’s mother got him a membership at a fitness club where he has been working out twice a day this summer.

He plans to study business and graphic design.
