YMCA Book Club Celebrates With Comfort Food

This local book discussion group makes creative connections.

For eight years, Sandi Liming, district aquatic director at the Mid-County Family YMCA on Urban Drive in Brentwood, has been hosting a monthly book club.

In January, discussion of the book Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs was accompanied by Sandi's version of the author's special recipe lemon cake (pictured here). A phone link with the author was also arranged. Beth Gewinner assists with moderating the discussion when needed.

Future discussions include Montana 1948 by Latty Watson in February, and Clubbed to Death by Elaine Viets in March.

An interesting feature of this book club is that authors are always invited to attend.

In past meetings, Bill McClellan and other authors have attended discussions of their book. The club meets on the third Tuesday of each month at noon at the Y.
