Brentwood Basketball Girls Trounce MRH in Senior Night Game

The Eagles took advantage of Maplewood Richmond Heights errors to run away with the home game.

Brentwood girls Basketball coach Chris Jones said he wished all their games could be senior night. It was one to remember.

The Eagles beat Maplewood Richmond Heights 74-14 in one of the last games of the regular season. The home game also sealed the South Central AA Conference championship for Brentwood.

"That was pretty impresive," Jones said. "They shot well, they played defense well. Maplewood is a good team; they had an off night."

MRH coach Erica Anderson said the Blue Devils had some setbacks early and didn't bounce back.

"You make them remember this game, to know they don't want to go back to that game," she said. "They're hurting, and that's a good thing, so now they know to put more heart, put more effort and trust in your team and your coaches. We'll bounce back."

Brentwood plays John Burroughs (12-8) on Tuesday in their first district playoff game. Burroughs beat the Eagles by nine in the first game of the year.

MRH faces Principia (15-7) for its first district tournament game, also on Tuesday. The tournament is at Lutheran St. Peters, at 5100 Mexico Road, St. Peters, MO.
