MRH, Brentwood to Play for District Championship

Rain postponed the game until Saturday afternoon.

The Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights baseball teams will meet for the third and final time this season. This time, everything is on the line.

The teams will battle for the Class 2 district championship at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Ladue High School. If it rains, a makeup game will be scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Eagles (15-6, 7-2) won the first two meetings against MRH: a and a .

But this is a different Blue Devils team. After mustering three wins in the first 16 games, MRH (8-13, 3-6) closed the season with five straight victories, including a big win on Wednesday night.

Brentwood ace Ryan Jones is expected to take the mound for the Eagles, while MRH's pitching duties will likely be split among several players.

The winner is scheduled to play New Bloomfield in a state sectional game on Monday at .
