MRH, Brentwood Will Compete in Volleyball Tourney Tomorrow

Six high school volleyball teams—including Brentwood and Maplewood Richmond Heights—will face off in the Brentwood Volleyball Invitational Tournament tomorrow morning in the Brentwood High School gym.

MRH (15-9, 6-3) and Brentwood (14-4, 7-0) have the best records of the six. The others are Clayton (6-11, 4-1), Lutheran North (6-6, 0-4), Normandy (3-13, 1-3), and Imagine School (0-3 in tournaments).

The Blue Devils and Eagles will lock horns at around 10 a.m. MRH's Brandi Allen leads the South Central A.A. conference in kills with 118, but Brentwood has strong depth, claiming spots three through seven in the conference's kills category.

Brentwood's Olivia Snare leads the conference in aces with 66, but MRH's Brittney Poole, Mariah Russell, and Brandi Allen own spots two through four. Brentwood is 3-0 in games against MRH this season.

Pool play starts at 9 a.m. and will be played in both the large and small gyms. Brentwood and MRH will meet after the 9 a.m. game. The bracket rounds will start at 12:30 in the large gym, and the championship game is scheduled for 2:30.
