MRH Football is Young and Without Head Coach

Maplewood Richmond Heights starts with MICDS and Brentwood.

The Maplewood Richmond Heights football team is a young one, MRH Athletic Director Rich Nixon said at practice on Thursday. Their goal will be to improve through the season to be ready for the post season.

Nixon said the team has seen its share of adversity. The newly named head coach, J.C. Kime, was recently hospitalized with kidney stones and other complications, and is now on leave. Nixon said he and the assistant coaches are working hard to fill in.

The Blue Devils' season will test them. They start with MICDS at home and will also face John Burroughs, Potosi, Cardinal Ritter, Fredericktown and other large schools.

MRH plays Brentwood at MRH on Sept. 6. The Blue Devils' jamboree is at Oakville, Aug. 23.
