MRH Seniors Get Full-Ride Basketball Scholarships

MRH basketball will be left with two seniors in next year's team.

Two more Maplewood Richmond Heights student athletes signed letters of intent, on Wednesday, to play athletics in college.

Devontai Halfacre will be attending Kaskaskia Community College and Corey Frazier Jr. will be attending Mineral Area Community College on full scholarships.

"Anything I don't have to pay for I'm excited about," Corey Frazier Sr. said about Corey Frazier Jr. Frazier Sr. is the MRH head basketball coach.

"He's put himself in a position where he doesn't have to pay for school," Frazier said. "Parent, fan, whatever you are you can't ask for more than that."

Devontai Halfacre's mother, Katrina McCray, said she looks for him to be an outstanding student as a young adult.

"As his mother, I just want him to recieve the best education, and if athletics is a part of that journey, along with the career path, then I support that 100 percent," McCray said.
