Notre Dame vs. Alabama: BCS Title Game TV Schedule & Predictions

MRH and Brentwood head coaches agree with the oddsmakers. We've got your radio and TV listings for the big game.

Tonight, the college football bowl season comes to an end, as Notre Dame and Alabama square off in the Discover BCS National Championship Game.

The Fighting Irish and the Crimson Tide, ranked number 1 and 2 respectively in the BCS poll, kick off at 7:30 CT. The game can be seen on ESPN TV and can also be heard on 101 ESPN Radio.

Oddsmakers have Alabama favored by more than a touchdown, but we asked Creve Coeur and St. Louis area high school football coaches for their analysis:

Maplewood Richmond Heights Coach Rich Nixon: Alabama

Alabama ( In my opinion has the best Head Football coach in the country and one of the most imposing defensive fronts in all of college football.)

ND has a sense of family that has developed this year and its a very interesting dynamic that I believe will allow for the game to be closer than one might think if you just looked at the two teams on paper.

Brentwood Football Coach Keith Herring: Alabama

Two very good teams, ND does have A LOT of momentum and chemistry along with a solid D going in. It could be their year, but I'm picking Bama. They've been there before, Saban does a great job of preparing and I just like their style of play! So, I'm taking Bama, mainly because I like them!

Parkway North Coach Bob Bunton: Alabama

I am a huge Notre Dame fan so in my heart I want the Irish to win. However, I think the 'Bama defense is going to be too much for ND and am going to pick the Tide. I do look for a close game because I think the long time off between games is almost like starting the season over again. This is tough, but I am going to go with 'Bama 24-13 over the Irish.

Chaminade College Prep Coach Antoine Torrey: Alabama

I will be keying on the best offensive line in all of college football going against the best front 7 defensively. Alabama offensive linemen Barrett Jones and Chance Warmack may be too much for Manti Te'o.  If ND key to heavy on there running attack Alabama will beat you with Jones, one of the best WR in college football.

Even though ND has the Irish luck and the Coach of the Year on their side and Alabama may have to overcome a few distractions this weekend staying in the most popular hotel in the US, at the end I think Alabama's overall experience in national championship games the last few years will afford them the win in a close game.

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
