Two Unaligned Politicos Abusing the Meaning of Free Speech: National and Brentwood

Why is Obama on the banner? Why is Brentwood City Council still making news?

I will not be a regular blogger, but i do have some comments.  First, why are the OBAMA's at the top of the Patch banner?  Each time I look, THERE THEY ARE---AGAIN.  I find this objectionable as Obama is the MOST unconstitutional pres. in history.  Why should a pic, (with author  "American GROAN" Michelle Obama looking so fat and healthy next to her nicotine addicted hub---when EVERYTHING we know about our USC freedoms are under attack??

Second and finally, I find the Brentwood in-fighting and certain aldermanic fillabustering over Maureen Saunders to be NOT REPRESENTATIVE OF BRENTWOOD as a whole.  If there is a problem with the availability of information used in governance, or how laws came to be,  THAT IS A BIG PROBLEM.

I watched on the local cable a inexcusable exchange of "you slapped me harded so i have get to slap you back, and then..." (what?????)  mentality.  I was astounded.  I LOVE BRENTWOOD, in particular First Responders and Public Works.  BUT out of common dignity, don't parade individual (perceptual) differences/assaults like a school yard fight.  And quit mentioning the religious Church affiliations of any given members--as that is PERSONAL---NOT POLITICAL. Don't DO that.  If members can't say what they mean within a reasonable period of 3-7 minutes  (real time) THEN YOU HAVE NOT CLARIFIED YOUR OWN POSITION IN YOUR OWN MIND,  PRIOR TO OPENING YOUR MOUTH.  I do not mean this as a scathe, but as a Brentwood loving community member.  Meetings should not be more than 2-1/2 hours, or the blah..blah..bla...is excessive.  Line your ducks up, THEN shoot...BRENTWOOD IS BETTER THAN THIS.  sprintmudder

I for one have had enough of this church bashing by city hall. Enough is enough!

I was just thinking, if you happen to see something.....like the sign in front of City Hall, or theRead More sign in Schnuck's parking lot....regarding something going on in Brentwood, now you can click on the "Post" board at the top of the page, and let people know what is happening in Brentwood. We have the new format so we can now post whatever we want. Just click and post. Anyone can do it too.

I doubt this discrepancy you think exists is because the editors have more of a connection toRead More Maplewood. I imagine it is because Maplewood officials and Chamber of Commerce members send press releases to the editors regarding upcoming events and news items. If you want your local community to have more of a presence in the Patch, I suggest you contact the proper officials in Brentwood and urge them to send such notices. Self-promotion for a community is a good thing, although in the case of Brentwood Days and other iconic Brentwood events, it was my understanding that the city didn't want it publicized and preferred it to be a smaller event.
