Ice Withdrawals? We're Over Half Way...

If you have been shaking a bit, getting that fidgety feeling, reaching for the bag that holds your skates (and in some cases-hockey sticks), watching your calendar & your watch, driving past 2505 S. Brentwood Boulevard just out of habit, you’ve got it, the Shut-down Blues. It is more common than you may realize. Do you have it?

Our loyal patrons dread the six weeks we use to do a bit of maintenance. Don't worry, it is natural! We have great ice, when it is not melted. We have concerned staff. We have excellent programs. We have regular, predictable schedules. What’s not to love?

If you are one of our impatiently waiting figure skaters or hockey players, we are more than half way through! If you haven’t been bitten by the ice bug, you will at least find this interesting. At this point, we have a sand rink. The sand is being swept. The pipes must be checked, re-seated, then re-covered with sand as the pictures humorously show. Ready to see the next step?
