Spring-ing Up, All Around Brentwood

The ice is about to spring up in the ice rink. We can tell this is so because City staff is watering the sand. It has been “cultivated”, stripped of its striping as well as having its temperature checked. The pipes are healthy, so comes the time to water and grow. Our annual spring tradition is well underway!

Brentwood Parks & Recreation Department has much more to accomplish as other things begin to spring. Parks require a mowing, once-over inspection, cleaning, a few new shingles or even a new coat of paint. Without devoted service and maintenance staff, Brentwood Parks would remain in their winter drab through the bright summer season.

It doesn’t take a village, it takes a city…a city army committed to keeping the existing amenities in good repair, preparing for the future, cultivating the best we can be for the generations to come. Parks or green spaces improve our health. They increase our property value. They lift our spirits. Recreation touch our souls.

As we spruce up for the outdoor season, let’s all grow a great season of outdoor and indoor recreation. Include your family in fun activities. Invite your neighbors to enjoy an outing. Instigate community. Initiate random acts of FUN!
