This location is the only U.S. office for specialized Flowdrill drill bits, which are manufactured in the Netherlands. These aren't the typical drill bits. Flowdrill markets and sells to manufacturers who can utilize its specialty drilling process. The drill bits use frictional heat to create a ring or a collar of metal as the drill makes a hole into a surface. This ring is formed from the displaced material that flows toward the upper surface of the drilled surface and is created in a matter of seconds.
Another of the company's products, the Flowtap, can then be used to create threads within this ring of metal. The product works with mild and stainless steels, copper, brass, aluminum, titanium and most malleable materials.
Flowdrill advertizes that its product is less expensive and faster than the conventional welding and riveting nut manufacturing processes.
