The Maplewood Police Department is made up of 31 officers who perform a variety of duties for the city. Aside from enforcement, the police department also works closely with local businesses to offer crime prevention tips and provides a school resource officer to the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District.
In May 2009, the department expanded to a renovated part of Maplewood City Hall with the departure of the Maplewood Public Library to its new location.
