The Maya Cafe was one of the first Maplewood restaurants we visited when we moved here three years ago. We were blown away by the quality of the food and the intense flavors. Our two favorite dishes are the Pollo en Pepian Dulce and the Cerdo en Chile Verde. We love to celebrate special occasions at the Maya Cafe because we know we will have great food and service.

The Maya is awesome.

I recommend the Fish Tacos and the Enchiladas. Both are terrific. They also have a coffee and brown sugar rubbed pork steak at dinner that is amazing. I've been going there for a long time and I have never had a bad meal.

Much of the interior art is from local legend Bill Christman, so the place has a fun feel. If you go in the summer, be sure to check out the back deck, which is a 60 foot+ steel fishing boat. Dining while kicking back listening to some great live music on the boat, while enjoying one of their world class margaritas (which I think are the best in town) is the perfect way to spend an evening.

They typically have roots-based blues, rock and folk and I'm always surprised at how good the music is, considering it is such a small venue.

Love this place!!! Chef Rafa's specials are to die for! Also have some awesome margaritas. Management is really cool and laid back which makes for a fun environment.
