Any suggestions on where to start looking for pro bono work? I have no problem providing services…Read More free of charge but need a little compensation like leads and stuff. .. after all I have been out of school for almost a year and a half and still haven't been able to find a constant job in my field... thanks for all the help again

@Lindsay "Do you need a drug test?" In some occupations and industries, drug testing is…Read More required due to safety issues (i.e. driving a vehicle for company business). Trends suggest there is a direct link between Workers' Compensation claims and illegal and legal drug abuse. You should also consider your company's reputation when your job interacts with children or the general public. For the minimal cost of a drug test ($50 - 80), it could be well worth the due diligence. If someone will break state or federal laws, how likely will they be to follow company rules?

What do you in Human Resources say to the thousands of faceless human resources staffers across the…Read More country who take no time to acknowledge an applicant in writing or phone call? And what's the feeling of companies who fail to acknowledge applicants when they reply they'll never be a customer again when they feel the company wasted their time and ignored their interest?

It's the brown building that used to be Pro Am Golf. It's sort've across the street from the gas…Read More station as well. It doesn't look at all like it would house a sports bar but maybe the exterior will be remodeled as well. Who knows?
It's a shame that Grewe wouldn't accommodate Sports Zone, since the owner really wanted to stay in that location. But what intrigues me is why Sports Zone chose not to relocate to the lower half of Kenrick Plaza that's not being redeveloped. There are plenty of vacancies down there, and large enough for Sports Zone. I realize that the visibility won't be as great after construction is finished, but with the Sports Zone's popularity it wouldn't have been long before being "discovered" again by those who weren't familiar with its new location.
Yep, Shrewsbury's loss and Maplewood's gain. What else is new?! Originally Ross Dress For Less was going to tear a section down in Mackenzie Pointe and open there. That was all going on two years ago. Where are they going to open shortly? In Maplewood, in the newly developed Deer Creek Plaza.
I guess Maplewood is the cool place to be seen, work and play.

Other businesses in the plaza are still under the impression that they're going to move to a strip…Read More mall across the street (at the theater site). They were told that a new building would be constructed there before the current Kenrick Plaza is demolished. If it's true, then why isn't one of the best businesses in Shrewsbury staying in Shrewsbury? Our consultants have told us all along that Wal-mart is just what the businesses along Watson have been waiting for.

In all seriousness, while very educable, reliable, honest and fairly intelligent, no one wants to take a chance on me. Any reasonable suggestions, beside going back to college and graduating when SS will kick in?

My 2 cents... I couldn't understand why his interview of O, which I thought very little of in terms…Read More of generating raised eyebrows, would lead to IRS visits. Then, of course, we find out that his IRS troubles predated the interview. So, I can only guess that he just wanted to generate conversation with his FB post. Silly move on his part and maybe it was his way of starting something with the fairly new station management with which he reportedly did not get along. In most cases I would think that that alone would not be sufficient to fire someone, especially someone as popular as he was. In this case, I believe (just my opinion) station management took advantage and found a way to fire him. Now it'll play out in court and only the lawyers will "win". Sounds like he could use the money but I have no dogs in this fight. Just another public spectacle.

It will be sad to see her move out of Rock Hill. But I'm glad to see that old gas station go.

Any responsible business would choose to locate out side the City of Saint Louis. The poor employee…Read More pool can only be over shadowed by the poor political pool. To the point that I have heard rumors of State legislature doing all they can to woo the company into Saint Louis county. If one wishes to place a business in an area where car break ins, Arson and crooked political deals are the Norm. Then Gooooo City .
Mary Binns June 8, 2013 at 07:04 am
Agreed - County would be best, but not too far from City and close to 64/40.
