Peeping Tom Exposed Himself, Maplewood Police Say

A witness saw the suspect exposing himself early in the morning on Thursday.

Maplewood Police officers were sent to the 3300 block of Greenwood Boulevard for a report of a person exposing himself on Thursday around 12:30 a.m. Police say a witness observed a male masturbating as he was looking into a window of an apartment. When the officers arrived the suspect was no longer in the area.  The suspect is described as a medium brown-skinned tone male with medium length braided hair, 25-30 years of age, height 6'0" to 6'2", 190 to 200 lbs. wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Ryan Hummert Memorial is Coming Soon

The bronze statue will be at the northwest corner of Ryan Hummer Memorial Park.

The city of Maplewood has the funds to build a memorial to Ryan Hummert on a corner of the park named for him. It was previously called Junior High Park. The memorial is to be a bronze likeness of a firefighter. The city has announced a request for proposals from qualified contractors. Ryan Hummert was 22 years old when he responded to his first call on July 21, 2008. When the crew arrived to the 7400 block of Zephyr Avenue, a sniper began firing on the firefighters. Ryan Hummert was shot and killed. Two Maplewood police officers, Adam Fite and Sgt. Mike Martin, were wounded. Hummert was Maplewood's youngest firefighter, and son of former mayor Andy Hummert and Jackie Hummert. Maplewood Fire Chief Terry Merrell said Hummert's memory weighs…

St. Louis County Most Wanted Fugitives

The list of St. Louis County Police Department's Most Wanted fugitives.

The St. Louis County Police Department regularly maintains a list of its most wanted fugitives. The list is updated as fugitives are apprehended. It currently includes suspects wanted for child kidnapping, domestic assault, armed criminal action, rape, robbery and abuse of a child.   Among them is Ibraheem D. Yasin, pictured here. He is wanted on charges of assault and unlawful use of a weapon. His last known address is in Florissant. PNC Bank Robbery Suspect is Arrested, Lives Four Blocks From Bank

The suspect wore a fake beard in the bank.

Anthony Wilson, 31, from Richmond Heights, wore a fake beard to rob the PNC Bank at 2111 South Big Bend Boulevard Monday, Maplewood police say. Wilson was charged Tuesday with first-degree robbery, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bail. Wilson lives in the 2100 block of Princeton Place, which is four blocks from the bank. Wilson approached a teller at  4:24 p.m., and presented a note implying he had a weapon, police said. Wilson never showed a weapon and ran off with an undisclosed amount of money. Residents who live near the bank saw Wilson fleeing the bank and provided a description that helped officers identify him. Maplewood PNC Bank Robbed on Monday

Maplewood Police confirm the details of a robbery Monday afternoon.

On Monday, at approximately 4:24 p.m. a white man entered the PNC bank at 2211 Big Bend Boulevard. The man robbed the bank using a demand note. Maplewood police state a weapon was implied, but not shown.   The suspect left the bank after taking an undisclosed amount of money where he then fled on foot. The male suspect is described as a white male, standing 5'8 to 5'10, in his late twenties to early thirties.  The suspect had on a ball cap, a dress shirt and tie, and he appeared to be wearing a fake beard. Police: Man Exposed Himself and Grabbed Woman's Breast in Maplewood Commons Restroom

Maplewood detectives arrested the University City man on May 3.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Curtis Smith Jr., 31, of University City was arrested by Maplewood Police detectives on May 3, after warrants were issued by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Office for sexual misconduct in the first degree and sexual misconduct in the second degree.   On April 7,Smith entered the women’s restroom of a Maplewood Commons business where a female employee was cleaning.  Police say Smith exposed himself and grabbed the woman's breast without her consent.    Maplewood Police are working with another local agency because it is believed Smith may have committed other inappropriate acts at another …
