Maplewood American Legion Post 103 Officially Reopens

The veterans cut the ribbon in front of their post on Saturday.

Maplewood's American Legion Post 103 has reopened, and on Saturday, mayor James White was there to make it official. A group of veterans helped Post Commander Ray Birmingham cut the ribbon. Birmingham said they still have a lot of work to do, and the group will have raffles and barbeques to raise funds. "It's amazing how many people have been helping out and calling in with their support," he said. He said the group has 50 members, and said it's also currently open to the public Wednesday through Sunday. The building has two pool tables, two dart boards and two horse shoe pits. I was talking to a couple of the gentleman after the ribbon cutting ceremony and it was really amazing how quite a few members of the Maplewood business community came together behind the scenes to support the veterans and make the reopening possible.   more ›
