I think the REAL crime is that the county Prosecuting Attorney is pursing this at all! What's next, prosecuting a 3 year old for acting like a 3 year old? This is a waste of time for all involved and hurting a family that already has a heavy load to bear. Shame on the Prosecuting Attorney's office!   more ›

Chief says rash of crimes is unprecedented in Brentwood's recent history.

An armed robbery on Sunday prompted Brentwood police chief Steve Disbennett to send a plea for help to Brentwood businesses on the Brentwood Police department's web site. This is Disbennett's letter: Dear Brentwood Business, As many of you may know, in the last several months the Brentwood area has seen a rash of crimes that is unprecedented in our recent history.  Car break-in’s on our parking lots and garages, and in our neighborhoods have been a serious problem.  However, the glaring concern of our Department has been the amount of confrontations with our citizens and visitors to Brentwood, some involving weapons and physical violence.  This past Sunday, a woman was sitting in her car on the lot of Brentwood Square, eating her lunch on …

I have been taking the metro to work for the last 3 years, along with many other working people. I have never felt unsafe with my surroundings, and have no desire to drive to work again!! The metro is an asset to this city and I feel they need to expand the lines to other areas.   more ›

I realize that this can happen anywhere, but it really is getting to be crazy how often it is happening in Brentwood. Need to call my realtor friend!   more ›

I can't believe there are people who still leave animals in cars in the hot weather, much less a child. What is the matter with them???? The parents need to do a check on themselves, and seriously ask themselves "what is the matter with me, that I would think to leave my child in the car in this heat?".   more ›
