Brentwood police are reviewing footage from the Aug. 12 incident and plan to press charges.
Brentwood Police think the case of two men charged in the murder of Megan Boken, on Aug. 18 in the Central West End, shows similarities to the armed kidnapping and robbery at Brentwood Square on Aug. 12, according to a report in the St. Louis Post Dispatch. According to the article, "(Brentwood Police Chief Steve) Disbennett said the Boken murder has "strong" similarities to their case, including suspect descriptions, weapon used, crowded daylight settings and cellphones and cash stolen from victims." An armed robbery on Sunday prompted Brentwood police chief Steve Disbennett to send a plea for help to Brentwood businesses on the Brentwood Police department's web site. This is Disbennett's letter: Dear Brentwood Business, As many of you may know, in the last several months the Brentwood area has seen a rash of crimes that is unprecedented in our recent history. Car break-in’s on our parking lots and garages, and in our neighborhoods have been a serious problem. However, the glaring concern of our Department has been the amount of confrontations with our citizens and visitors to Brentwood, some involving weapons and physical violence. This past Sunday, a woman was sitting in her car on the lot of Brentwood Square, eating her lunch on …

Pre-holiday traffic rendered parts of Brentwood Boulevard a parking lot near the Brentwood Square south of Highway 40.
Here's hoping you weren't caught in the midday traffic mess along Brentwood Boulevard, from south of Manchester north to Highway 40 and beyond. Pre-holiday traffic, presumably attracted by last-minute shopping at the Brentwood Square and the Galleria Mall in Richmond Heights, was stacked up midday and crawling north to the highway. Here's a few shots of the traffic. A reminder, perhaps, that if you have last-minute shopping to do, plan plenty of time to get it done. And don't forget to check out our live traffic map on Maplewood-Brentwood Patch, where you can zoom in on specific locations in the St. Louis area to check out the delays.

Run either one mile or five kilometers.
Saturday morning is the annual Race to the Square to benefit educational enrichment programs and activities for teachers and students in the Brentwood School District. One mile and five kilometer races are a part of the event. Both courses will begin at the Brentwood Square shopping center on Brentwood Boulevard. The runners will then wind through the neighborhood streets to the south, then return back to Brentwood Square. Volunteer Brentwood students will help out along the course. Race organizer and Brentwood resident Patty Jones said both the one mile and five kilometer courses have been certified for their distances. The race has been promoted around the St. Louis racing community, so runners come from outside the area. There is an …

I have been taking the metro to work for the last 3 years, along with many other working people. I have never felt unsafe with my surroundings, and have no desire to drive to work again!! The metro is an asset to this city and I feel they need to expand the lines to other areas.   more ›
