Traveling Tea is Moving to Maplewood: 80 Varieties, 90 Percent of Them Organic

The owner has sold her tea at the Schlafly Farmers Market for five years. Now she'll have a storefront.

Maplewood will soon have another shop for a spot of tea. Traveling Tea is moving from the Benton Park neighborhood of St. Louis to 2707 Sutton Boulevard. Owner Kateri Meyer said she jumped on it when she heard S. Carmody Photography was moving out of the space. “I want the opportunity to have some street frontage, especially close to Manchester there, with all the events and promotions that Maplewood is always putting on," she said. "It’s a good neighborhood to be in.” Meyer said she moved out of her Benton Park location on Thursday. It was mostly storage. She has been working on plumbing and painting at her new location, and is shooting for a May opening. She needs to hire people for the new shop. Meyer has been selling her teas at the …

Jonathan, we will have cups of tea to-go, as well as sampling, and sales of looseleaf tea and brewing accessories. Food service is not my passion, though I do intend to have small food items to pick up for a quick snack. I would rather enhance the menus of other local cafes and restaurants with good tea to share.   more ›

Maplewood Coffee Crawl Was Hopping

Folks came from all over to walk Maplewood's streets, and sample great coffee and other goodies.

The third annual Maplewood Coffee Crawl pulled coffee-lovers from Chesterfield to south St. Louis city. It was sponsored by the Maplewood Special Business District and Feast Magazine. They had room for 500, and hit that number days before the event.  Maplewood businesses Cheryl's Herbs, Foundation Grounds, Kakao Chocolate, Stone Spiral Coffee and Currios, Schlafly Bottleworks, Turner Center for the Arts, and Vom Fass took part, featuring a coffee roaster or in the case of Cheryl's Herbs, several teas.
