Dierbergs, Hanley Station Managers Say Police Presence, Cameras Stop Crime

Executives from three commercial areas spoke at the Brentwood Public Safety Committee meeting Thursday.

In a Brentwood Public Safety Committee meeting when police chief Steve Disbennett said violent crime is up, and some of it in public areas, Alderman Tom Kramer, on the committee, said he'd like to see commercial community members to play a bigger roll in deterrence. There's a "potential of a team partnership between the city and our commercial corridor operators, so we can work together for creating safety and deterrence in our commercial areas," he said in a Public Safety Committee meeting on Thursday. Representatives from the larger Brentwood businesses were invited to talk about crime in their areas, and what they’ve done about it. Some came from Hanley Station, the Meridian and Dierbergs. I wish I had a nickle for every time I heard just wait until,the TIFF pays off.. Meanwhile, the coffers get lower and our taxes go up. Just received my tax bill last week, guess what? the Brentwood School District raised our rates 10%. Shrewsbury Police Hunt Two After Dierbergs Parking Lot Robbery

The armed men were driving a green Chevrolet Impala.

Shrewsbury police are on the hunt for two suspects that allegedly held up a victim in the Dierbergs parking lot today around 4 p.m., according to a St. Louis County police source. The two men were in their mid-20s and and displayed a hand gun. They were driving a green Chevrolet Impala. Dierbergs is located at 7233 Watson Road in Shrewsbury. I spoke with Lori Thome, a baker at Dierbergs, who has been perfecting her craft with the company for over 20 years.
