Jason Adams Named MRH Elementary Principal; Michael Dittrich Joins MRH Middle

The administrators will begin their new roles in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District on July 1.

Two new administrators will provide leadership at Maplewood Richmond Heights elementary and middle schools starting July 1, the MRH School District announced late Tuesday morning. Jason Adams will become principal at MRH Elementary School, while Michael Dittrich will become assistant principal at MRH Middle School. “We are delighted to have both Jason and Mike join our MRH family,” stated Dr. Linda Henke, the district's superintendent, in a news release. “Both are wonderful additions for our district and we have the utmost confidence in their commitment to our students our mission.” Adams previously served as assistant principal of Ross Elementary School in the Parkway School District and as a teacher at Tillman Elementary School in the …

Want to get more involved with your community while getting paid? Here's how you can join in Patch's mission to share local stories.

Do you live, work or play in Brentwood or Maplewood? Are you a strong believer in Patch's mission to support local communities and want to get involved? Maplewood-Brentwood Patch seeks driven, energetic community members to work on our Neighborhood Video Street Team. The team will be comprised of folks who want to share great stories in and about their community. The paid positions work on an ongoing, freelance basis. Team members occasionally will work independently but will also work with other members. We'll cover events like Brentwood Days or Maplewood's Coffee Crawl, but we'll also seek out good stories from our neighbors, friends or even strangers. Mark Twain Elementary Adds Another Teacher

The school has receives the go-ahead to hire a second fifth grade teacher for next year.

Mark Twain Elementary School will soon increase its staff by one teacher. The Brentwood Board of Education voted to add another fifth grade teacher for the school at its meeting last month. Principal Karen Smith said a teacher was needed to help with the increasing student population. She said the school once had two teachers for every class, but smaller classes forced the school to offer fewer teachers. "The population has grown back," Smith said. "We've probably increased the population over the last three or four years by 30 or 40 students." While this year's fifth grade class has 20 students, next year's class will have 33, Smith said.
