The Ku Klux Klan left flyers for Target shoppers, inviting them to learn more about the group.

Mathew Ritter lives on Bredell Avenue across from one of the Richmond Heights homes spray-painted with the letters “KKK” last Saturday night. He said the vandalism and related news coverage upset him. He contacted Patch to tell his side of the story of the neighborhood. He and his wife have lived there since 2010. “I can’t give the demographics of the street, but I can tell you we have Asian Americans up there, African Americans all around, it’s mixed, it’s diverse,” he said. “There’s never been anything like that at all, so I was very upset about it.” He said around 7:30 Saturday night he noticed police cars on Thomas Avenue and blue spray paint on a car, and thought that was all. A Richmond Heights woman said a man came to her door who appeared to be drunk with a can of spray paint in his hand.
Someone spray-painted the letters "KKK" on two houses in Richmond Heights on Saturday—one in the 7700 block of Weston Place and the other in the 1600 block of Bredell Avenue. The suspect or suspects also painted the letters on a fence and ripped the railing off a front porch. Alisha Allen said her husband answered the door Saturday night and a man who she said appeared to be drunk was there, with a can of spray paint in his hand. She said he pulled the railing off her porch, and she assumes he was the one who spray-painted “KKK” on her house and car.
