Peeping Tom Exposed Himself, Maplewood Police Say

A witness saw the suspect exposing himself early in the morning on Thursday.

Maplewood Police officers were sent to the 3300 block of Greenwood Boulevard for a report of a person exposing himself on Thursday around 12:30 a.m. Police say a witness observed a male masturbating as he was looking into a window of an apartment. When the officers arrived the suspect was no longer in the area.  The suspect is described as a medium brown-skinned tone male with medium length braided hair, 25-30 years of age, height 6'0" to 6'2", 190 to 200 lbs. wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. Maplewood PNC Bank Robbed on Monday

Maplewood Police confirm the details of a robbery Monday afternoon.

On Monday, at approximately 4:24 p.m. a white man entered the PNC bank at 2211 Big Bend Boulevard. The man robbed the bank using a demand note. Maplewood police state a weapon was implied, but not shown.   The suspect left the bank after taking an undisclosed amount of money where he then fled on foot. The male suspect is described as a white male, standing 5'8 to 5'10, in his late twenties to early thirties.  The suspect had on a ball cap, a dress shirt and tie, and he appeared to be wearing a fake beard. Police: Man Exposed Himself and Grabbed Woman's Breast in Maplewood Commons Restroom

Maplewood detectives arrested the University City man on May 3.

The following information was supplied by the Maplewood Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. Curtis Smith Jr., 31, of University City was arrested by Maplewood Police detectives on May 3, after warrants were issued by the St. Louis County Prosecuting Office for sexual misconduct in the first degree and sexual misconduct in the second degree.   On April 7,Smith entered the women’s restroom of a Maplewood Commons business where a female employee was cleaning.  Police say Smith exposed himself and grabbed the woman's breast without her consent.    Maplewood Police are working with another local agency because it is believed Smith may have committed other inappropriate acts at another …

Saturday Is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Locations around the St. Louis area will be collecting and destroying potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs this Saturday.

The sixth annual, national drug take-back day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, with local officers partnering with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) officials to execute this initiative locally. Organizers said the overall goal is to prevent unused prescription medication from becoming available for abuse, and to keep unused prescription medication out of the nation's water supply. In the five previous Take-Back events, DEA and state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners have collected more than 2 million pounds (1,018 tons) of prescription medications were removed from circulation. Maplewood Walmart Cashiers Scammed Into Handing Over Hundreds

The suspect confused the cashiers as he bought a bottle of water.

Jeffrey Brown, 47, of the 4200 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue West, paid for a single bottle of water with a $100 at Walmart, in Maplewood Commons, and managed to walk out with almost $1,000 according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The two incidents occurred between May 12 and July 7. After the July incident, a cashier told Maplewood police Det. Adam Fite that Brown gave her a $100 bill to pay for a bottle of water, and then confused her as she was making change for it by giving her additional bills and asking her to break those bills into smaller bills, according to court documents. He was charged on Tuesday by St. Louis County prosecuters with stealing more than $500. Read the full report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

This is one of the oldest scams out there. I've had it tried on me a couple times at my business. This is why we don't make change for people and also why we don't accept 50 or 100 dollar bills unless the order is of comparable value.
