re: "the impossible"... incredible first third of the movie. director did a great jod cinematically. we watch this movie in a packed Plaza Frontenac theater on Saturday, and the audience was definately impacted by the wave scenes. then the movie drifts into a boy with mommy issues, and a series of ridiculous "where's Waldo" scenes wherevthe family, torn apart and separated by the wave keep barely…   more ›

21st Annual St. Louis International Film Festival Offers Something For Every Taste

Topics include comedy, horror, wide-ranging documentaries, children's films and more.

From mainstream Hollywood films to international entries and little known documentaries, with a range featuring comedy, pathos and horror, the 21st annual Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival will have something for everyone during its Nov. 8-19 run. "Film festivals like ours offer a huge array of different kinds of material," said Cliff Froehlich, the festival’s executive director. "Honestly, anybody who’s interested in movies, even in a nominal way, is going to actually find something that’s going to be entertaining, enlightening, educational, or fun," Froehlich said.
