Maplewood Man Who Pleaded Guilty to Murder-For-Hire Arrested in Colorado
William Lawrence didn't show up for sentencing in Nov. He was arrested this month.
According to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Maplewood man who pleaded guilty to using Craigslist to hire a killer for Maplewood police officers was arrested in Colorado on Dec. 7. He appeared in federal court in St. Louis today. William Lawrence, 32, pleaded guilty in June to use of a facility of interstate commerce in the commission of a murder for hire and admitted offering $1 million on Craigslist for each Maplewood police officer killed. He was scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 15, but never showed up. Lawrence failed to return to a rehabilitation center in September, court documents show.
