As if Cardinals fans need another reason for total disdain of the Chicago Cubs, the Cubbies' Wrigley Field was recently dubbed the least sanitary stadium in all Major League Baseball. The Cardinals' Busch Stadium is the "Best of the Best." That's according to the website, UFE.com (Urine Feces Everywhere). The site had glowing remarks about Busch Stadium fans. We've got the evidence of a sweaty outing at Thursday's Cardinals-Dodgers game—all to raise money for HavenHouse.
We wanted to share a few pictures of your Friendly Neighborhood Patchers at concession stand No. 150 —behind home plate!— at Thursday's St. Louis Cardinals game against the Dodgers (Cards won 7-4). Patch editors from around the St. Louis area were slinging hotdogs, beer and nachos supremes during Thursday's day game. The volunteer effort was the culmination of our Give 5 Day Fundraiser. HavenHouse Wins Funding Via Patch's Volunteer Efforts
Patch staff will work a concession at Thursday's St. Louis Cardinals game against the L.A. Dodgers, to raise money for charity. Elissa Plastino won our contest to donate the proceeds to her charity of choice. Congrats!
Elissa Plastino, who works in brand marketing for the corporate office of Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. in Creve Coeur, won Patch's Busch Stadium fundraiser contest. But the real winner will be HavenHouse in Creve Coeur, Plastino's choice for where our fundraising dollars go. HavenHouse provides "the comfort of home and a community of support for families traveling to St. Louis" for medical care. Brentwood Graduate's Talent Was on Display at Busch Stadium

Former St. Louis Cardinals player Kerry Robinson knows the significance of playing a high school baseball game at Busch Stadium. Robinson played twice at the old Busch Stadium during his days at Hazelwood East High School, and when he accepted a coaching position at the Delta Dental SmilesLeague All-Star Baseball Game, it was an opportunity to remember days of the past. “This is a big deal for these guys because I know that when I was in high school I got to play against Pattonville and had a great time,” Robinson said. “So this is a great opportunity to get out here and be like Albert Pujols and Matt Holliday and all of those guys that they see on TV.” Ryan Jones, who graduated from Brentwood High School in May, was one of 32 area high …

Ryan Hummert Night Draws 300 to Busch Stadium
The tickets raised money for a memorial for the fallen Maplewood firefighter.
Ryan Hummert Night at the Ballpark brought 300 Maplewoodians and friends to Busch Stadium on Friday night. Tickets were sold at a discounted rate to raise money for a memorial for fallen Maplewood firefighter Ryan Hummert, who was killed by a gunman on July 21, 2008, while on duty. The crowd saw a 5-4 St. Louis Cardinals loss to the Kansas City Royals.
