Maplewood Woman Indicted for Endangering Child's Welfare

Prosecutors said she did not seek medical treatment for her 2-year-old son, who was severely burned.

A Maplewood woman was indicted by a St. Louis County grand jury for endangering the welfare of a child. St. Louis County prosecutors said Nicole Williams, 32, of the 3700 block of Oxford Blvd. in Maplewood, did not seek medical treatment for her 2-year-old son after he was severely burned March 8. She had not sought medical treatment for the boy through March 23, according to court documents. Williams next is due in court on Dec. 5. Police: Mom Didn't Seek Medical Help for 2-Year-Old's Severe Burns

Maplewood Police said the child was burned March 8, but the woman had not sought help through March 23.

A Maplewood woman faces a criminal charge for not seeking medical treatment for her 2-year-old son after the child suffered severe burns to his hands, feet and buttocks. Nicole S. Williams, 31, of the 3700 block of Oxford Blvd. in Maplewood, was charged Wednesday with endangering a child’s welfare. Maplewood Police said the child was severely burned on March 8, but Williams had not sought medical treatment through March 23. Bond was set at $7,500. If the child was severlery burned then the ER visit is a MUST. When my son was 3, he was burned on his right hand. I called his Dr. Immediately. They advised to come in. And that's what we did. In this case I would really wonder HOW this child GOT severley burned in all those places mentioned.   more ›
